Tigers sign first-round pick Crawford

University of Florida righty was ranked No. 17 in class prior to Draft

The Tigers have signed first-round Draft selection Jonathon Crawford, a right-handed pitcher out of the University of Florida

Crawford, the 20th overall pick in last week's First-Year Player Draft, went 3-6 with a 3.84 ERA as a junior this spring with the Gators. The highlight of his college career came in 2012, when he tossed Florida's first no-hitter since 1991.

Ranked the No. 17 overall prospect by MLB.com entering the Draft, Crawford also had success last summer on the international level. The 6-foot-2 righty went 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA in six outings with Team USA, earning Team USA's International Performance of the Year honors.

In signing Crawford, the Tigers have now agreed to terms with 19 players taken in this year's Draft.
