Toronto chooses OF Davis in 15th round

The Blue Jays wrapped up the 15th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft on Saturday with their third consecutive position player, but only their fourth of the entire Draft, selecting outfielder Jonathan Davis with the 445th pick.

Davis, 21, regressed in his junior year at the University of Central Arkansas. The speedy Camden, Ark., native hit only .268 with three home runs, 49 RBIs, 48 runs scored, and 25 stolen bases in 2013.

His on-base percentage was solid at .416, but his average was nearly 80 points lower than his first two seasons playing collegiate ball.

Despite not having the same success as a junior, Davis was previously the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year and a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American in 2011.
