Trop ready to go after offseason renovation

ST. PETERSBURG -- Tropicana Field underwent a major renovation during the offseason, highlighted by the 360-degree pedestrian circulation created around the lower seating bowl.

All of the improvements were complete, which afforded Rays team president Matt Silverman the opportunity to smile about the project.

"All of the paint is dry as of this morning," Silverman said. "You always have that rush up to Opening Day. And then on the facility side, you can exhale a little bit and hand it over to the baseball team to do their job.

"There has been great energy this spring from the baseball team and great energy at the Trop as we get ready for the season, and we're very excited."
