Twins-Red Sox rained out; twin bill on Wednesday

BOSTON -- Coming off a 1-6 road trip, the Red Sox now have an extra day to regroup. Monday's game against the Twins was postponed due to wet grounds at Fenway Park and a forecast of moderate to heavy rain showers during the afternoon and evening hours, with low temperatures anticipated throughout the night.

The game will be made up on Wednesday at 1:35 p.m. ET as the first game of a split-admission, day-night doubleheader.

Tickets for Monday night's game will be good for admission to Game 1 on Wednesday.

Based on the current forecast, the Red Sox expect that Tuesday's game will be played as scheduled at 7:10 p.m.

Right-hander Clay Buchholz, scheduled to pitch Monday, will get the start on Tuesday.

Lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, fresh off pitching a gem in his Major League debut last week in Texas, will start Game 1 on Wednesday. Veteran righty Rick Porcello will get the nod for Game 2.

Knuckleballer Steven Wright gets the nod in the finale of this four-game series on Thursday afternoon at 4:05.

The 22-29 Red Sox were swept by the first-place Twins last week in Minneapolis, and they hope to get back on track during this seven-game homestand.
