Twins to open spring slate at renovated park on March 5

Two-year Hammond Stadium project to be on display when club hosts Red Sox

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins announced their 2015 Spring Training schedule at renovated Hammond Stadium at the newly renamed CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Fla., on Thursday. Ticket information will come at a later date.

Pitchers and catchers are set to report on Sunday, Feb. 22, with the first workouts slated for Feb. 23. The rest of the squad is set to report on Feb. 27, with the first full-squad workouts scheduled for Feb. 28. It leads up to a scrimmage against the University of Minnesota on March 4, before Grapefruit League play begins on March 5 with the home opener against the Red Sox at Hammond Stadium.

The two-year renovation process will be complete in time for Spring Training, and it will feature extensive improvements to Hammond Stadium, which was built in 1991.

Changes include expanded concourses, new concessions and restrooms and a multilevel team store. Additional renovations include upgraded premium seating, new suites with improved views, additional spaces for group seating, a press box renovation and a clubhouse expansion.

Minnesota's Spring Training schedule features 33 games, including 17 at Hammond Stadium, with Grapefruit League play wrapping up on April 4 against the Red Sox. It leads up to Opening Day against the Tigers at Comerica Park on April 6.

Highlights of the Twins' 17-game Hammond Stadium home schedule include facing the Red Sox four times (March 5, April 1, 2 and 4), the Orioles three times (March 8, 18 and 21), the Pirates twice (March 20 and 27) and the Cardinals (March 15) and Yankees once (March 31).
