Davis to remain in Royals rotation

KANSAS CITY -- Despite losing his last four starts, Wade Davis will keep his spot in the Royals rotation.

"We need him to get it going and be productive for us," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "We still believe there is a chance of that happening."

Davis lasted just 2 2/3 innings on Monday night, when he gave up four runs on seven hits, three walks and three strikeouts. He left after 83 pitches in his second shortest start of the season. He is 4-9 with a 5.92 ERA through 19 starts.

"We're going to stick with him for now," Yost said. "One, he hadn't pitched in 11 days. Two, we think that there are some things we can do to improve his game. His stuff was as good as it's been all year long, it was just command."
