White Sox Announce Weekend Series Activities

WHAT:           Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for this weekend’s series vs. Seattle.  Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

The games on Friday and Sunday will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, while WGN-TV will broadcast the game on Saturday.  All three games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and on 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Ceremonial first pitch from the cast of Eric & Kathy on The Mix

Amanda Schnoebelen, White Sox employee from Chicago, will perform the National Anthem.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show set to beach music, courtesy of Comcast SportsNet.

In celebration of Beach Bash, Mr. Myers Band will perform Caribbean Rock music outside Gate 4, while Tropixplosion plays tropical hits at Gate 5.  There will be a Beach Bash Party Shop featuring leis and grass hula skirts outside Gate 4 and in section 159 through the third inning.  Ohana Dancers, an authentic Polynesian dance troupe, will perform on-field before the game.  Also, Scottie the Parrot and “Those Funny Little People” Beach Couple, as seen on America’s Got Talent, will be available on the concourse for photo opportunities during the game.

The cast from The Eric & Kathy Show, Chicago’s signature entertainment morning radio program on WTMX-FM “The Mix,” will be in attendance at Friday’s game, including Eric Ferguson, Kathy Hart, Melissa McGurren, Brian “Whip” Paruch, Cynthia Skolak and John “Swany.”

 

Saturday, August 25, 6:10 p.m. vs. Seattle

Ceremonial first pitch by Conor Dwyer

Conor Dwyer, Gold medalist in Team USA's 4x200 freestyle relay from Winnetka (Ill.), will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Maria Diebolt, 13-year old from Indianapolis, will perform the National Anthem.

The Saint Xavier NAIA National Championship football team will participate in a pre-game parade around the warning track, with head coach Mike Feminis tossing out a ceremonial first pitch.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show set to music from movie soundtracks, courtesy of Saint Xavier University.

Also on Saturday, the White Sox Wives will be hosting the 14th annual Food Drive in partnership with Dominick’s and the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD).  Cash donations are encouraged, in lieu of food donations.  The wives and volunteers from Dominick’s and the GCFD will be collecting cash donations at all ballpark gates before the game and inside the ballpark at sections 107, 134 and 535 through the fifth inning.

George Hall, 10-year-old guest of Coldwell Banker will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Kate Wild, 13-year-old from Glen Ellyn (Ill.), will perform the National Anthem. 

Alexia Chibucos, a 13-year-old from Palos Park (Ill.), will perform God Bless America.

The theme of this season’s final Kids Day is Back to School Carnival.  Tickets are available for $1 for kids 13 and under, with a fully paid adult, at the U.S. Cellular Field ticket window on the day of the game (subject to availability).  Select players will be available for an autograph session at 11:30 a.m.  Other special entertainment includes magnet and baseball art with the Chevrolet Pride Crew, balloonists, caricature artists and face painters.  Kids also will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

The game also is a throwback Sunday, where the White Sox wear red pinstriped throwback uniforms and red Sox caps, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1972 White Sox team.  The White Sox will wear the throwback uniforms during every Sunday home game this season.
