Three White Sox pitchers combine for no-hitter

Acosta, Caro and Quijada throw 9 no-hit innings for Dominican Summer League squad

Three pitchers combined to toss a no-hitter for the White Sox's Dominican Summer League squad.

The stars were Nelson Acosta, Fernando Caro and Jhoan Quijada, who together went nine innings in the Sox's 10-0 blowout over the DSL Reds. Acosta, 17, was perfect through seven innings. He struck out six hitters to pick up the win and improve to 2-2 with a 3.27 ERA.

Chicago signed the 6-foot-3 right-hander out of Venezuela in October 2013. He went 0-4 with a 2.35 ERA in 14 DSL appearances last summer.

Caro gave up the game's first walk in the eighth, but he struck out two to finish the frame and then Quijada fanned one in a clean ninth to finish the contest.
