Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna continued to tear up the Dominican Winter League with a 3-for-5 night Monday, as Gigantes topped Estrellas. Ozuna, now hitting .324, doubled and drove in three, while left fielder Ronny Gil went 3-for-4 with a home run to lead off the ballgame. Rubi Silva had three hits and Christian Colon, Ivan DeJesus and Henry Ramos pounded out two apiece, as Ponce knocked off Caguas. Colon, the No. 17 prospect in the Royals' system, has caught fire of late. His big night Monday extended his current hitting streak to eight games, during which he's hitting .412. Aaron Bates and Miguel Abreu had two hits for Caguas. Box score
Carolina 4, Santurce 1
Carolina used a four-run seventh inning and 7 1/3 one-run frames from starter Yuya Iida to get past Santurce. Left fielder Jesus Feliciano hit a two-run triple that broke a 1-all deadlock, and Enrique Hernandez led the offense with two hits. Reds speedster Billy Hamilton had two of Santurce's four hits but didn't steal a base. Box score
