Alfredo Marte went 4-for-5, driving home Escogido's first run with an RBI double in the first inning. An error gave Escogido two more in the frame, and Pirates No. 2 prospect Gregory Polanco added an RBI single in the second, before Pittsburgh's Starling Marte made it 5-0 with a fielder's choice grounder. Wilkin Castillo and Pedro Florimon both chipped in two hits for Escogido. Box score

Gigantes 4, Licey 2
The Marlins' Marcell Ozuna gave the Gigantes some much-needed breathing room in the seventh inning, when his two-run home run provided a 3-0 lead. Ozuna's double-play grounder in the ninth pushed across another run, before the Brewers' Juan Francisco smacked a two-run homer to make things interesting in the bottom of the frame. Box score

Santurce 7, Mayaguez 4
Santurce broke a scoreless tie with a five-run third inning before Mayaguez came back with three in the bottom half. Jack Lopez had two hits and two RBIs for Santurce, while Neftali Soto doubled and drove in two. Mayaguez leadoff man Dee Gordon singled in all five of his at-bats but was caught stealing on his only attempt and scored just one run. Twins No. 5 prospect Eddie Rosario homered for Mayaguez. Caguas 6, Carolina 5 (11 innings)
Roberto Pena provided the walkoff win for Caguas with his one-out, bases-loaded sacrifice fly. Caguas had rallied from a 5-0 deficit after five innings, with Jorge Padilla's eighth-inning sac fly tying the score. Padilla finished with three hits, while Ramon Castro doubled twice and drove in two. Box score

Zulia 4, Margarita 0 (Game 1; 7 innings)
The Rays' Alex Torres held Margarita to two hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win in half of Saturday's doubleheader. Jose Pirela went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Freddy Galvis also added two hits for Zulia. Box score

Ender Inciarte had two hits for Zulia, while Hernan Perez doubled and drew a walk. Juan Apodaca's RBI single in the fourth put Zulia ahead, 3-1. Box score

Caracas 15, Magallanes 3
Alex Gonzalez notched four of Caracas' 17 hits and drove in five runs. Caracas, which went 10-for-18 with runners in scoring position, scored nine runs in the fifth to take a 14-2 advantage. Aharon Eggleston doubled twice and drove in two, while Jose Duarte produced three hits. Carlos Maldonado homered for Magallanes. Box score

Pinch-hitter Jamie Romak smacked a game-tying two-run double in the seventh for La Guaira, which took the lead when the Giants' Hector Sanchez singled home a run in the 10th. La Guaira's C.J. Retherford finished 3-for-5 with a homer, while Yangervis Solarte picked up three hits for Aragua. Box score

Obregon 3, Navojoa 2
Obregon produced all of its scoring in the fifth inning, when Robert Saucedo led off with a home run and Doug Clark added a two-run shot with two outs. Rolando Valdez struck out nine over six strong innings for the win, and Jonathan Arias nailed down the save. John Lindsey hit a solo shot for Navojoa. Box score

Los Mochis 6, Culiacan 3
Los Mochis sent 11 men to the plate during a six-run seventh inning, which Brian Burgamy began with a walk and capped with his two-run double. The outburst undid the work of Francisco Campos, who struck out eight over six scoreless innings for Culiacan, which also got a two-run homer from Donell Linares. Box score

Mexicali 6, Guasave 4 (12 innings)
Oscar Robles hit a solo homer in the third inning, then provided the go-ahead runs with a two-run blast with two outs in the 12th, finishing with four RBIs. Luis Juarez also smacked a two-run shot for Mexicali, while Jose Manuel Rodriguez hit one for Guasave. Box score

Mazatlan 5, Hermosillo 2
Mazatlan scored all of its runs in the second inning, providing support for Alejandro Martinez, who tossed five scoreless innings. Erick Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI for Mazatlan, while Heber Gomez collected three hits for Hermosillo. Box score
