Dominican Winter League

Escogido 3, Aguilas 2
Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Escogido on Tuesday, as he continued his torrid Dominican Winter League campaign. The Pirates' No. 2 prospect is now hitting .326 with a .448 on-base percentage and 22 RBIs. Pedro Ciriaco also had two hits for Escogido, while Yankees farmhand Zoilo Almonte went 2-for-4. Box score

Gigantes 8, Toros 1
Gigantes del Cibao turned seven hits into eight runs, as they cruised past Toros. Francisco Peguero scored twice and went 2-for-4, while Marlins youngster Marcell Ozuna added an RBI double. Philadelphia's Antonio Bastardo tossed a scoreless inning in relief with two strikeouts. Box score

Licey 3, Estrellas 2
Yordany Ramirez's double in the top of the 13th plated Yamaico Navarro and propelled Licey to victory. Navarro, who has spent parts of four seasons in the Majors and is currently a free agent, had tied the game in the eighth with an RBI single. For Estrellas, Cubs center fielder Junior Lake had three hits and Elian Herrera, who was claimed by the Brewers earlier this month, had four, but it wasn't enough. Box score

Ponce 4, Caguas 3
Ponce made the most of its six hits in a 4-3 victory over Caguas on Tuesday. Third baseman Christian Colon -- the No. 17 prospect in the Royals' system -- had three hits, and Ivan DeJesus had two singles and an RBI to boost his average to .340 on the year. Andy Gonzalez went 5-for-5 for Caguas, which tallied 13 hits but lost. Box score

Santurce 8, Mayaguez 2
Neftali Soto, the No. 16 prospect in the Reds' system, went 2-for-4 with a double and a homer, propelling Santurce to an easy win over Mayaguez. Left fielder Jeff Dominguez also had two hits, and Astros farmhand Jonathan Singleton hit a solo homer to go along with two walks. Reds speedster Billy Hamilton was held hitless, going 0-for-3. Venezuelan Winter League

Magallanes 4, Caracas 1
A pitchers duel early, Magallanes finally broke through against Caracas with two in the sixth. Mario Lisson's two-run home run got Magallanes on the board, and was part of a 2-for-4 night for the powerful third baseman. Yankees farmhand Adonis Garcia also had a pair of hits, and Sergio Perez picked up the win with six shutout innings. He allowed just two hits, while striking out 10. Box score

Lara 5, Aragua 4
Back-to-back RBI singles from Luis Jimenez and Luis Valbuena plated the tying and winning runs, as Lara's eighth-inning rally proved to be the difference. Jimenez finished the night 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and third baseman Joe Thurston scored twice and went 2-for-3 with a walk. Yorman Bazardo pitched five one-hit innings for Aragua, but could only watch as the bullpen allowed four runs over the next three frames. Box score

Mexican Pacific League

Mazatlan 5, Navojoa 1
Bryan Petersen went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Mazatlan. Mazatlan starter Walter Silva allowed a run on four hits in 6 2/3 innings, while striking out five. He picked up his third victory of the season. Second baseman Carlos Orrantia had two of Navojoa's four hits in the loss. Box score

Culiacan 7, Hermosillo 1
Maxwell Leon hit a three-run home run in the second inning, giving Culiacan a commanding five-run lead that it would never relinquish. Veteran infielder Jorge Cantu went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, as did right fielder Joey Meneses. Amauri Sanit tossed five shutout innings to pick up the win. Edgar Gonzalez took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks in five shaky frames. Box score

Los Mochis 6, Obregon 4
Gilberto Mejia's sixth-inning homer broke a four-all tie, and Los Mochis tacked on another run an inning later in a 6-4 victory over Obregon. Mejia finished the night 3-for-5, while Jamie Johnson and Yancarlo Angulo added two hits apiece. Francisco Cordova allowed four runs -- three earned -- in six innings to pick up the win. Box score

Mexicali 13, Guasave 1
Mexicali had a grand old time in its rout of Guasave. Ben Guez hit a grand slam in a five-run third inning, and Xorge Castillo launched another bases-loaded shot as part of an eight-run seventh. Russell Branyan, who had four hits on the night, added a solo homer, and Ramon Rios went 4-for-5. Box score
