Worth noting

• Melvin said before Tuesday's game that Brett Anderson would be in Cleveland on Wednesday for a bullpen session. Anderson, who hasn't pitched for the A's since April 29 and is on the 15-day disabled list, has been sidelined with a sprained right ankle. He's 1-4 with a 6.21 ERA.

• A scoring change was made in Oakland's 19-inning game with the Angels on April 29. A single and an RBI were taken from John Jaso after the league decided to give Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick an error on Jaso's batted ball in the fourth inning. That also makes the run scored by Josh Donaldson, which had gone toward Angels pitcher Tommy Hanson's ERA, unearned.

• The A's entered Tuesday leading the Majors with 174 runs scored this season. They had also walked 152 times and doubled 76 times, top marks for both leagues.
