PHILADELPHIA, PA – JUNE 17, 2020 – Philadelphia’s own The Disco Biscuits will take the field at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, June 23 at 7:45pm ET for “The Disco Biscuits Take You Out to the Ball Game” – a free, livestream performance from the infield dirt at the home of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The free event, presented by Live Nation, will call upon viewers to make charitable contributions while they watch, with 100% of all proceeds benefitting the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund (blacklives.plus1.org). Donations will be distributed to various organizations including Urban League of Philadelphia. Fans and supporters can watch the show live on the official YouTube & Facebook pages for The Disco Biscuits, Phillies and Live Nation, as well as on Live Nation’s Live From Home platform.

The Disco Biscuits were in discussions with the Phillies to perform at Citizens Bank Park when the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis sparked deserved national outrage regarding the on-going struggle with racism and violence aimed at the Black Community that has plagued the United States for centuries. All partners in the event recognized that something had to be done to fight against the many systemic injustices at the root of the issue. Once The Disco Biscuits Take You Out to the Ball Game pivoted to a benefit for the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund, Live Nation was contacted and informed of the details. The world’s leading live entertainment company immediately pledged full and unconditional support for the event – inclusive of financial funding, personnel, production support and other resources.

The Disco Biscuits Take You Out to the Ball Game is partnered with PLUS1 (PLUS1.org) to fight against anti-Black racism and violence in the United States through the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund by supporting Equal Justice Initiative, The Bail Project and Impact Justice, while also reserving funds for grassroots organizations. The PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund is centered on empowering black communities, transforming the criminal justice system, and building equitable and dignified systems.

Along with the use of the ballpark, the Phillies also committed resources and personnel to the event. Phillies jerseys for the musicians, the use of the Phanavision and other iconic stadium signage, an introduction from iconic public address announcer Dan Baker, and other signature ballpark elements will provide the concert with the look and feel of a baseball game. The band will perform on the infield dirt.
