Pirates announce changes to Sports Performance Team

Please note the following changes to the Sports Performance Team at the Major League level:
Todd Tomczyk has been named Director of Sports Medicine. Todd spent the last six seasons as the Pirates Head Athletic Trainer at the Major League level after spending five seasons as an assistant athletic trainer with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bryan Housand has been named Head Athletic Trainer. Bryan has spent the last 17 years with the Pittsburgh organization, the last two as the Athletic Training Coordinator.
Jim Malone has been named the Major League Strength Coach. He most recently served Campbell University as Assistant Athletic Director for Physical Development/Strength and Conditioning after spending a year and a half as the Athletic Development Coordinator for the St. Louis Cardinals' minor league affiliates and Latin American program. Jim also served the New York Mets as their Major League Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2002 and in the same capacity with the San Diego Padres for seven seasons (2006-2012).
Ben Potenziano returns for his seventh season as the Pirates Assistant Athletic Trainer and Kevin "Otis" Fitzgerald begins his third year as the club's Physical Therapist.
