Pirates general ticket on-sale now planned for Tuesday

All remaining tickets for the first two homestands to go on-sale tomorrow

March 22nd, 2021

As the Pittsburgh Pirates prepare for the return of fans to PNC Park, the Club will place all remaining tickets on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23, for the first two homestands of the season. With a limited ballpark capacity to start the season and restrictions changing regularly, the Club will initially make individual tickets available only through the first two homestands in order to provide flexibility to increase capacity as permitted.

All remaining tickets for the first two homestands will go on sale to the general public tomorrow at 10 a.m. online at Pirates.com/tickets, or by calling 1-800-BUY-BUCS. Due to all health and safety guidelines still in place throughout the state, such as the six-feet social distancing requirement, the Club is still planning for a capacity of approximately 25-percent for all home games to start the season.

“We are excited to host fans once again at PNC Park. The easing of restrictions by Governor Tom Wolf regarding capacity limits for outdoor facilities is an encouraging step. However, due to the current social distancing guidelines, our capacity will be limited to roughly 25-percent,” said Pirates President Travis Williams. “We are constantly reviewing the changes as they come out and will announce any updates as it increases capacity limits at PNC Park.”

This season, in an effort to limit touch points and provide the safest environment possible, the Pirates will make digital delivery of tickets the method for all fans to receive their tickets. This delivery method will take place via the MLB Ballpark App, a free mobile app available in the Apple and Google Play stores. For easy and contactless entry into the ballpark, fans are asked to have their tickets ready on their mobile device in the MLB Ballpark app at the gate. Complete information including instructions on downloading the MLB Ballpark app, is available at Pirates.com/ballparkapp.

A total of 12 games will be made available during the initial on-sale, spanning the first two homestands of the season. The home schedule begins with the Home Opener on Thursday, April 8 vs the Chicago Cubs at 1:35 p.m. The home schedule for the first month of the season includes series with the San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals.

Tickets are being made available in seating pod allotments of two and four per transaction with very limited single-seat availability. All seating arrangements are being made in accordance with health and safety protocols, including the recommended six feet of distance between pods throughout the ballpark.
