Acquired by Miami as the “Player To Be Named Later” in the trade that sent RHPs Jeff Brigham and Elieser Hernandez to the New York Mets in exchange for right-handed pitching prospect Franklin Sanchez on Nov. 18....Earned MiLB.com Organizational All-Star honors for the second consecutive season, slashing .306/.363/.441 in 72 games between Triple-A Syracuse, Double-A Binghamton, and the FCL Mets....Missed time from June 15 to Aug. 16 with a back injury....In his first stint with Triple-A, Mangum went 46x138 (.333) with an .836 OPS in 33 games. Hit 11 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, and 21 RBI with 7 stolen bases....The switch-hitter hit .342 (26x76) vs. left-handed pitching as a right-handed batter and .288 (59x205) vs. right-handed pitching as a left-handed batter....Hit safely in 19 of 23 games played in the month of May, posting a .363 avg. and .893 OPS that earned him the promotion to Syracuse on May 24.
