Eugenio Suárez, D-backs
Suárez took a pitch off his left hand in the bottom of the eighth inning during the MLB All-Star Game on July 15, but he remained in the game. X-rays came back negative.
Sal Frelick, Brewers
Frelick has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring, leaving his status in doubt as Milwaukee prepares to begin the second half.
Yordan Alvarez, Jeremy Peña, Spencer Arrighetti, Cristian Javier and Jake Meyers, Astros
Alvarez (right hand fracture) will be re-evaluated by doctors July 17, GM Dana Brown told KBME-AM, with hopes he will be cleared to start swinging a bat. Brown said Alvarez has no pain in his hand.
Peña (rib fracture) has resumed baseball activities (he's not swinging a bat yet) and could come off the injured list shortly after the All-Star break.
Arrighetti (right thumb fracture) has progressed to throwing live BPs in Florida and could go on a rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break
Javier (Tommy John surgery) made his first rehab start July 12 for the FCL Astros in Florida, allowing three hits, three runs (two earned) and three walks while striking out two batters in 1 1/3 innings (35 pitches).
Meyers was placed on the 10-day IL on July 11 with a right calf strain. Brown said July 13 that Meyers is expected to miss more than three weeks.
Max Fried and Luis Gil, Yankees
Fried left his July 12 start against the Cubs after the third inning with a blister on his left index finger.
Gil (right lat strain) recorded six strikeouts and allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings in a rehab start for Double-A Somerset on July 13.
Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki, Dodgers
Snell (left shoulder inflammation) made his second rehab start on July 15, this time with the Dodgers’ Arizona Complex League affiliate, tossing three innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts.
Sasaki (right shoulder impingement) has resumed throwing bullpens and could return by late August, according to manager Dave Roberts.
Austin Riley, Braves
Riley (strained right abdomen) was placed on the 10-day IL on July 12.
Shane McClanahan and Ha-Seong Kim, Rays
McClanahan (left triceps nerve irritation) recorded five outs, three of them K's, on 36 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on July 13. He made his first rehab start on July 8, throwing one scoreless inning for the Rookie-level FCL Rays.
Kim fouled a ball hard off his left foot in the seventh inning on July 13 at Fenway Park. He remained in the game to finish the at-bat but was replaced in the infield a half-inning later. Initial X-rays were negative.
Lars Nootbaar and Nolan Arenado, Cardinals
Nootbaar was placed on the 10-day IL with left side discomfort on July 13.
Arenado left the Cardinals' July 11 game against the Braves due to a recurrence of the right index finger sprain he sustained last month. He was out of the lineup through July 13.
Aaron Nola and Alec Bohm, Phillies
Nola (right ankle sprain, stress fracture in right rib) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on July 12 in Clearwater, Fla. He is scheduled to throw live batting practice on July 15 and July 19.
Bohm was drilled by a Yu Darvish sinker in the second inning on July 12 and exited in the middle of the fourth inning with a left rib-cage bruise. He was out of the lineup July 13.
Shane Bieber and Gabriel Arias, Guardians
Bieber (Tommy John surgery) is scheduled for a July 15 rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Arias (left ankle sprain) is going through full baseball activities and high-speed running. He is expected to run the bases during the week of July 14.
Zach Eflin, Ryan Mountcastle and Cade Povich, Orioles
Eflin (lower back strain) allowed two runs over four innings in his July 13 rehab start for Double-A Chesapeake.
Mountcastle (right hamstring strain) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on July 22.
Povich (left hip inflammation) tossed three perfect innings in his July 13 rehab start for High-A Aberdeen.
Alek Manoah and Daulton Varsho, Blue Jays
Manoah (right UCL surgery) and Varsho (left hamstring strain) are expected to begin rehab assignments in the Florida Complex League on July 14.
Hunter Dobbins, Red Sox
Dobbins has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee after exiting his July 11 start -- his first since June 20 after missing time with a right elbow strain -- with the injury. He was placed on the 15-day IL on July 12.
Miguel Amaya and Jameson Taillon, Cubs
Amaya (left oblique strain) will likely begin a rehab assignment after the All-Star break. Manager Craig Counsell said on July 12 that the catcher will need a week of games before returning from the IL.
Taillon (right calf strain) is doing some activity, including playing catch, which Counsell called a “good sign.” He has not started running yet, per a July 12 update.
Kerry Carpenter, Tigers
Carpenter (right hamstring strain) is doing agility drills and has started a running progression on the field at Comerica Park, per a July 12 update. He is also hitting and doing defensive drills.
Keibert Ruiz, Nationals
Ruiz (concussion) has shown signs of improvement per a July 12 update. He is working out with the team and has progressed to hitting off a tee.
Dedniel Núñez, Mets
Núñez will undergo Tommy John surgery next week, manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed on July 12.
Edward Cabrera and Connor Norby, Marlins
Cabrera was removed after four innings from his July 11 start against the Orioles with posterior right elbow discomfort. He underwent an MRI on July 12.
Norby felt soreness in his left wrist during his last at-bat on July 11 and was out of the lineup through July 13.
Ezequiel Tovar, Rockies
Tovar (left oblique strain) will likely return to the big leagues after the All-Star break, interim manager Warren Schaeffer said on July 12.
