After setback, Doyle resumes rehab assignment with power display

is back in action. At the Minor League level, that is.

Doyle, on his way back after suffering a left oblique contusion in mid-May, initially began his rehab assignment on June 23 but was halted after four games due to left groin tightness.

Back in the lineup as the designated hitter for Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, the Rockies' speedy center fielder went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run.

Although the Rockies have not addressed how the brief setback has impacted Doyle's timeline, the club had been hopeful that it would have him back before the All-Star break. Whenever he does return, he'll be looking to bring some of the offense he had on display with him -- in 43 games before the injury, Doyle was hitting just .207 with one home run and four RBIs.
