Phase 1 of fan voting for the 2026 KONAMI eBaseball MLB All-Star Ballot concluded at noon ET on Thursday. Now, the wait is on for players and fans alike to see which stars will move on to Phase 2, which will determine who starts the All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Here is everything that you need to know.
When are Phase 1 results being announced?
MLB Network is airing live coverage during MLB Tonight, which begins at 5 p.m. ET (with finalists announcement at 6) tonight on MLB Network.
Will anyone clinch a spot in the All-Star Game?
Yes. The leading vote-getter in both the American League and the National League will earn a spot in the starting lineup in Philadelphia. As of the last update on Monday, Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani led all players with 2,310,735 votes, holding a lead over L.A. teammate Max Muncy in the NL. Meanwhile, Blue Jays utilityman Ernie Clement was leading Astros DH Yordan Alvarez, Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Angels outfielder Mike Trout for the overall AL lead.
How many players advance to Phase 2?
The top two finishers at each position – and the top six outfielders – move on to the second phase of voting. However, if Judge or Trout surges past Clement to become the AL’s leading vote-getter, then only the next four outfielders on the list would advance and vie for the remaining two outfield spots.
When will Phase 2 begin and end?
Voting for Phase 2 will begin at noon ET on Monday, June 29. Fans have 72 hours to cast their ballots, as voting will end at noon on Thursday, July 2.
Fans may vote once per day during Phase 2, with the daily voting limit resetting each day at midnight. Just like in Phase 1, the All-Star Ballot is available at MLB.com, on all 30 MLB club sites and on the MLB app.
The winners will be announced on Saturday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
Do vote totals from Phase 1 carry over?
No. Vote totals will reset upon the conclusion of Phase 1. For example, look at the NL catcher race. As of our last update, the Braves’ Drake Baldwin led the Dodgers’ Will Smith by more than 450,000 votes for the top spot. However, assuming both players advance to Phase 2, Smith would get a clean slate for their head-to-head matchup, which would start from scratch.
What are the races to watch?
The following are some of the closest battles as of Monday’s update:
- Nine-time All-Star Jose Altuve is chasing down Ezequiel Duran for the runner-up spot at second base in the AL.
- The final two spots for the AL outfield finalists look to be coming down to five different players: Julio Rodríguez, Randy Arozarena, Daulton Varsho, Jesús Sánchez and Riley Greene.
- Can Bryce Harper – fresh off his first career cycle – take over second place from Matt Olson at first base in the NL?
- Brice Turang is right behind Bryson Stott for the runner-up spot at second base in the NL.
- In the NL outfield vote, Juan Soto, James Wood and Jordan Walker are in a tight race for the final spot.
