Tuesday provided one of the most wholesome moments at this year’s Spring Training so far.
During the Blue Jays-Team Canada exhibition game at Dunedin’s TD Ballpark, a foul ball to the bleachers down the left-field line sent a Tigers fan over his seats in an attempt to catch it. After he was unsuccessful in his attempt, a young Blue Jays fan retrieved the ball and, instead of keeping it, gave it to the Tigers fan.
It was a fun twist and a reversal of a commonplace occurrence at baseball games, when it’s the adult giving a baseball to a kid who was unable to retrieve it. Perhaps this young Blue Jays fan created some good karma for the next time he’s at a game. At the very least, he showed some kindness and a moment he can carry with him for the rest of his life.
