Royals to begin Spring Training vs. Angels

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals and MLB announced the 2020 Spring Training schedule and the Royals will begin their 32-game slate on Feb. 22 in Tempe, Ariz., against the Angels.

The Spring Training home opener will be Feb. 23 against the Indians in Surprise, Ariz.

The first workout date for pitchers and catchers is Feb. 12, followed by position players on Feb. 17.

Kansas City’s schedule features 14 home games at Surprise Stadium, plus two games as the visiting team against the Rangers on Feb. 25 and March 13.

The Royals will play every other Cactus League team at least twice, including three games vs. the Angels and Rangers.

The Royals will break camp after their March 21 games against the Rangers in Surprise.

From there, the Royals will conclude exhibition play with two games against the Brewers at Miller Park on March 23-24. The regular season opens March 26 against the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Season ticket renewals and group ticket packages will go on sale on Sunday, October 20 through www.royals.com/spring. Single game tickets will go on sale online, via phone or mail order starting Saturday, November 16. The Surprise Stadium Box Office will open on Saturday, January 4 for walk-up purchases.
