KC to face Rangers on Feb. 21 in charity game

The Royals will open their 18th Spring Training in Surprise, Ariz. on Friday, Feb. 21, with their annual charity game against the Texas Rangers, leading off their slate of 33 Cactus League contests.

The Royals will host 15 games at Surprise Stadium, plus two games as the visiting team against the Rangers at the ballpark. The vast majority of their games will be in the afternoon, with first pitches scheduled for 2:05 p.m. CT until Daylight Savings Time changes on March 8. After that, their next four home day games will begin at 3:05 p.m. CT.

The Royals will close their Arizona stay on Saturday, March 21, with a 2:05 p.m. CT game against the Rangers. They’ll head from there to Milwaukee for exhibition games against the Brewers on March 23-24.

The Royals will host two night games next spring, beginning with a 7:05 p.m. CT game against the D-backs on Tuesday, March 3. Two weeks later, the Royals and Dodgers will have an 8:05 p.m. CT game at Surprise Stadium on Tuesday, March 17.

Spring Training season ticket renewals and group ticket packages go on sale Saturday, Oct. 19, at royals.com/spring. Single-game Spring Training tickets go on sale online, by phone and through mail order on Saturday, Nov. 16. Walk-up purchases at Surprise Stadium begin on Saturday, Jan. 4.
