The Yankees and Royals made a minor trade on Saturday, with the Yankees sending Minor League infielder Ryan McBroom to Kansas City for international signing bonus pool money and a player to be named later or cash.

McBroom, a 27-year-old first baseman at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, has never played in the Majors. The right-handed hitter was having a strong season for Scranton, hitting .315/.402/.574 with 26 home runs and 66 RBIs in 117 games.

McBroom was originally drafted in the 15th round by the Blue Jays in 2014.
