Roberto Clemente Nominee Recognition - Fans are welcome to arrive early to help us congratulate Joe Mauer during a special pregame ceremony on his selection as the Minnesota Twins 2018 nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award.
Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month -- September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Major League Baseball and the Minnesota Twins will be helping to raise awareness of the fight against children's cancers all month long. On Friday, September 7, the Twins will welcome representatives from the Children's Cancer Research Fund to for a pregame ceremony.
Mayo Clinic Documentary -- The Twins will host numerous Mayo Clinic doctors, dignitaries, and Sisters of Saint Francis at Target Field to celebrate a new two-hour documentary, THE MAYO CLINIC: FAITH - HOPE - SCIENCE. Produced by Ken Burns, the documentary will air on PBS on Tuesday, September 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Featuring interviews with patients, including John McCain and the Dalai Lama, the film tells the story of William Worrall Mayo, an English immigrant who began practicing medicine with his sons Will and Charlie in Rochester, MN, and enlisted the help of the nearby Sisters of Saint Francis to care for patients.
