CHICAGO, IL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle from the 15-day Injured List.

Mahle, who was placed on the Injured List on August 20 with right shoulder inflammation, has made three starts for the Twins since being acquired at the trade deadline from Cincinnati, going 1-0 with a 2.51 ERA (14.1 IP, 4 ER), four walks, 12 strikeouts and a 0.84 WHIP. The right-hander has gone 6-7 with a 4.17 ERA (118.2 IP, 55 ER), 43 walks, 126 strikeouts and a .224 opponent batting average in 22 starts between the Twins and Reds this season. He is scheduled to make the start tonight against the White Sox in Chicago.

To make room for Mahle on the 28-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Jovani Moran to Triple-A St. Paul. Moran, who was recalled by Minnesota on Monday, made one relief appearance during his most recent stint with the Twins, allowing one run on three hits in 3.0 innings on Wednesday vs. Boston.
