Drew Burress' power has been on display since his first swing in the A's system last week, and he kept showing it off Sunday for Single-A Stockton.
Burress homered for the third time in five games as a pro during the Ports' 14-7 victory over San Jose inside Excite Ballpark. After his first inning solo shot, Burress picked up his first career double and drove in another run during Stockton's seven-run second inning. The No. 8 pick in last month's MLB Draft, Burress has only four hits in 21 at-bats thus far, but all of those knocks have gone for extra bases.

That power is arguably Burress' top tool; it earned a 60 grade ahead of the 2026 Draft, and he used it to bash 60 homers while at Georgia Tech, a program record. If he can find more consistent success at the plate, Burress could be up in the big leagues fairly quickly.
