Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship

The Astros Foundation and Daikin Comfort Technologies present the second annual Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship, offering $100,000 to Greater Houston’s most innovative Class of 2026 seniors. We are looking for students who excel where science, technology, engineering, arts, and math intersect, and who bring character, creativity, and community leadership to everything they do.

We believe STEAM drives real world breakthroughs. It is where problem solvers, makers, and big thinkers turn ideas into impact.

In 2025, the program awarded $10,000 each to ten exceptional students, underscoring our commitment to Houston’s next generation of innovators. Now it is your turn! Seniors are invited to share their stories of curiosity, leadership, and service as they take the next step in their education.

Scholarship Details

  • Application Period: February 17 - March 31, 2026
  • Eligibility:
    • Graduating high school seniors that will be attending a higher education institution upon graduation.
    • Permanent address in one of the following Texas counties:
      • Austin
      • Brazoria
      • Chambers
      • Fort Bend
      • Galveston
      • Harris
      • Liberty
      • Montgomery
      • San Jacinto
      • Walker
      • Waller
      • Wharton
  • Students are required to provide a 300-word essay, 2 letters of recommendation, and proof of acceptance.
  • If selected as a semifinalist, a personal interview may be conducted with the Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship program committee.
  • Scholarship funds awarded to winners must be used for education, such as tuition and related fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at an accredited educational institution.
  • Winners will be notified via email and announced at a Houston Astros game. They will be invited to a pre-game reception, where they will be presented with a scholarship certificate.
