Slide into summer with the Reliant Readers Summer Reading Program!
The Houston Astros Foundation and Reliant have partnered together for the 3rd year in a row to stop the “summer slide” that happens too often for our elementary students. We are excited to kick off our SLIDE INTO SUMMER READING program and we invite you to encourage your students to become a RELIANT READER for this upcoming summer. Our goal is to achieve 60,000 reading hours this summer by elementary students in the Greater Houston and surrounding area. The top 1,000 readers will receive tickets to the August 3rd home game to celebrate their summer reading achievements.
To raise awareness and kick-off this summer’s program, we are offering local elementary schools the chance to win a SLIDE INTO SUMMER READING PARTY by registering the most readers by May 13th. The school with the most registered students will win a party with Orbit from the Astros, Hugo from Reliant, the Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew, plus, books, backpacks & prizes for each student. Three Slide Into Summer Reading Parties will be held the week of May 20th for the top (1) private school, (1) large public/charter and (1) small-medium public/charter school.
Reliant Readers Summer Reading Program is available to children in grades Kindergarten through fifth (5th) (“Student Reader”). Parent/legal guardian may submit one (1) form per day on behalf of their Student Reader from now until July 20th. The Student Reader’s name will serve as the unique identifier for parent/legal guardian with multiple entries. Two (2) tickets will be provided to the registered parent/legal guardian for use by the parent/legal guardian and each of their unique Student Readers, while supplies last. Tickets will be given to the parent/legal guardian of the top 1,000 unique children/Student Readers. Use of any MLB ticket is subject to the standard terms, conditions, and health and safety policies applicable to the ticket; see Astros.com/ticketback for details. Student Reader must be accompanied to the game by a parent/legal guardian eighteen (18) years of age or older. Tickets are subject to availability. Game dates and exact seat locations shall be determined at the sole discretion of the Houston Astros and may be subject to change. Tickets may not be resold or offered for resale or used in any way for commercial or promotional purpose whatsoever. Student Reader and their parent/legal guardian agree to comply with all applicable ballpark regulations in connection with the tickets.
