OAKLAND -- It took a while, but the A’s have finished what they started on May 19.

Completing a game that was suspended 110 days earlier at Comerica Park due to rain, the A’s and Tigers met at the Coliseum on Friday to resume the game in the bottom of the seventh, with the A's as the road team. Leading by two runs at the time of the suspension, the A’s pulled away for a 7-3 win.

Chad Pinder added to the lead that began in May by provided the offense on Friday with a two-run homer off Tigers reliever David McKay.

Liam Hendriks, who was on the mound at the time of the suspension with a 2-2 count on Josh Harrison, resumed the at-bat against pinch-hitting Jordy Mercer on Friday and struck him out swinging with a first-pitch fastball on his way to a clean inning.

Jake Diekman and J.B. Wendelken shut the Tigers down over the final two innings to cap off the victory.

Aside from the A's winning "an away game" in Oakland, here are some quirks from the peculiar matchup:

• The win technically extended the season-high winning streak the A’s were on during that May stretch to 11 games, making it their longest winning streak since the historic 20-game winning streak of 2002.

• With Mike Fiers having limited Detroit to three runs over six innings on May 19, Friday’s completion earned him his 14th win of the season and also pushes his current personal winning streak to 12 games, which is the second-longest in Oakland history -- one shy of Catfish Hunter, who won 13 in a row in 1973.
