Oakland, Calif. -- KD, SIMMY, SMOKEY, TOM ACE, OLY, **MARTINI EMOJI**, HURTADO, SLYDAH. It might not be what you’re used to seeing on the back of an A’s jersey, but those are just the beginning for Players’ Weekend that is scheduled for Aug. 24-25 during the Bay Bridge Series at the Coliseum.

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced this afternoon the return of “Players’ Weekend” which is a player-focused event that will include the players wearing black or white, non-traditional uniforms. Players will have the opportunity to have a nickname placed on the back of their jerseys made by Majestic Athletic, as well as to wear and use uniquely colored and designed spikes, batting gloves, wristbands, compression sleeves, catcher's masks, and bats.

For the two games in Oakland, the Athletics will wear white uniforms and the Giants will wear black.
