ATLANTA -- Michael Harris II’s latest bout with lower back tightness could limit his availability over the next few days.
Harris’ back felt better than expected when he returned to Truist Park for the resumption of a suspended game the Giants won, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon. But the Braves center fielder wasn’t in Wednesday night’s lineup and it’s unclear when he may return to everyday action.
Harris was removed after the first inning on Tuesday night, before the game was suspended after the top of the second inning. Harris scored from second base on a Mauricio Dubón single and didn’t return to play center field when the second inning began.
When asked Wednesday morning, Harris said this discomfort is similar to what he experienced earlier this month.
Harris also felt lower back discomfort near the end of a June 5 game against the Pirates. He was left out of the lineup the next two days, but delivered a game-winning pinch-hit double on June 7.
