Chicago Cubs announce Cubs 100 Gifts of Service Caravan Tour

CHICAGO - The Chicago Cubs today announced the schedule for the Cubs 100 Gifts of Service 2014 Caravan Tour. The annual tour features players, coaches and front office personnel giving back to the community.

This year's Caravan theme, 100 Gifts of Service, kicks off a yearlong program featuring Cubs players, coaches and front office associates engaging in community service projects to celebrate Wrigley Field's 100^th birthday. Throughout 2014, Cubs associates and players will visit hospitals and schools, serve meals to children and families in need, and renovate playgrounds to help celebrate the centennial celebration of the Friendly Confines.

The Cubs 100 Gifts of Service 2014 Caravan Tour will visit three schools, three hospitals and the 2^nd Battalion, 24^th Marine base where Cubs players, coaches and front office associates will serve lunch to 250 military service personnel and veterans in partnership with the USO of Illinois. A Caravan stop at Casals School of Excellence in Humboldt Park will allow Cubs to paint murals, build benches and cabinets for reading spaces, and redesign a room for academic tutoring.
