It will be interesting to see how Quintana bounces back after throwing 121 pitches in his last outing vs. the Cards. Working on extra rest, he gave up two runs over seven innings and got the win. The tweaks to his changeup have been working.

The best thing about Lester's last outing was that he didn't walk anyone. He also lasted six-plus innings, which is what the Cubs needed. He's 7-1 with a 3.16 ERA on the road this season, and 2-0 with a 4.00 ERA in three starts against the Pirates.

Taillon is 5-4 with a 3.09 ERA over his last 11 starts, and he's held opponents to a .241 average and .647 OPS during that stretch. This will be Taillon's first start of the year against the Cubs; he has a 5.06 ERA against them in five career starts.

Kingham didn’t have much in his last start Thursday vs. the Mets, falling behind in the count then getting hit hard as he allowed six runs on seven hits in three-plus innings. He’s given up five runs over 12 innings in two starts vs. the Cubs in '18.
