As the first African American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era, Jackie Robinson paved the way for future generations of African American athletes in baseball and other sports. On April 17 when the Cubs return to the Friendly Confines, the organization will honor Jackie Robinson and his achievements on this day of celebration. This offer includes a special-edition Cubs Jackie Robinson jersey and a ticket to the Cubs-Mets game. The design of this special-edition jersey pays homage to Cubs home jerseys in 1947, the year Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. The Cubs will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of the Special Ticket Offer to the Black Baseball Media Foundation, working to provide opportunities and break down barriers for youth in baseball. Jerseys will be offered in sizes M, XL and XXL, and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To purchase tickets for a group of 15 or more, please contact Sydney Cohen at 773-404-4121 or scohen@cubs.com.
