LA Reads

Los Angeles has one of the lowest literacy rates in the country. Nearly four million people, more than half of Los Angeles Countyā€™s working-age population, have low literacy skills, severely impacting their employment ability.

To help address the literacy crisis in Los Angeles and get children excited about reading, the Los Angeles Dodgers partnered with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation to execute LA Reads, a literacy campaign that includes a literacy challenge, ā€œDodgers Reading Championsā€. LA Reads and the Dodgers Reading Champions are designed to motivate youth to read and help them build a lifelong love of reading.
