Dodgers reinstate Chris Capuano from the disabled list; option Alex Castellanos to Triple-A

Capuano to start the second game of today's doubleheader at New York

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated left-handed pitcher Chris Capuano from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Alex Castellanos to Triple-A Albuquerque. Capuano last appeared in a Major League game on May 29 against the Angels in Anaheim and allowed three runs on six hits in 5.2 innings in a loss before being placed on the DL the next day with a left shoulder latissimus strain. The 34-year-old made a rehab start last Friday for Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing just one hit and striking out five in 4.0 scoreless innings. Capuano has gone 1-4 with a 5.45 ERA in eight games (six starts) this season and had previously spent time on the DL this year with a left calf strain (April 17-May 6).

Castellanos went 2-for-9 with a double (.222) in four games with the Dodgers after being recalled from Albuquerque on June 11.
