Longtime scouting executive Clark to join Dodgers
Has worked with team president Kasten in Atlanta and Washington
LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers are expected to announce the hiring of longtime scouting executive Roy Clark, who has worked for Dodgers president Stan Kasten in Atlanta and Washington.
Clark was assistant general manager and vice president of player personnel in Washington for the last four years and will now be a scouting crosschecker for vice president of amateur scouting Logan White.
Despite exploding the payroll over the past two seasons to jump-start competitiveness on the Major League level, Kasten has insisted that the franchise is committed to a long-term player development system that will allow the team to rely less on expensive free agents and veterans obtained by trades.
Clark, 56, was the Braves' scouting director for 11 years. He spent four years as a Minor League infielder in Seattle's organization before turning to coaching and scouting.
