Marlins to host auditions for ballpark talent

Search begins for in-game host, Marlins Mermaids, PA announcer, anthem singers

MIAMI -- The Marlins are embarking on a talent search.
The organization on Tuesday announced it will host auditions for an in-game host, Marlins Mermaids, public address announcer and anthem singers.
It's all part of the enhanced fan experience at Marlins Park for the 2019 season. Those interested are encouraged to register at Marlins.com/Auditions and Marlins.com/Mermaids.
The in-game host auditions will take place from 1-4 p.m. ET on Sunday at Marlins Park. This is an opportunity to be one of the faces of entertainment for the Marlins. The club is seeking individuals, 18 years or older, who exhibit on-camera energy along with emcee skills. The position will be for all 81 Marlins home games and other special events.
Marlins Mermaids auditions will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Feb. 17 at SLAM Academy. Candidates must be 18 or older. The Mermaids provide excitement and entertainment through dances, cheers and fan interaction at home games and other special events.
Public address announcer auditions are scheduled from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 18 at Marlins Park. It's a chance to be the voice of Marlins Park for all 81 home games and special events, and candidates must be 18 or older.
National anthem singer auditions are lined up from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Marlins Park. The top two finalists will perform the national anthem on March 29-30 during Opening Week. All contestants will be eligible to perform the anthem during the regular season.
