The New York Mets announced today that they have signed two-time All-Star Todd Frazier to a two-year contract. 
 
Frazier, 31, hit 27 home runs with 76 RBI while posting a career-best 83 walks and a career-best .344 on-base percentage in 147 combined games between the White Sox and Yankees in 2017. He began the season with the White Sox before being traded to the Yankees on July 18. After joining the Yankees, Frazier batted .222 (43-194) with 11 home runs and 32 RBI in 66 games. In 13 postseason games for the Yankees, Frazier went 8-43 (.186) with one home run, five RBI and six runs scored.
 
The Toms River, NJ native hit a career-best 40 home runs and drove in a career-high 98 runs while batting .225 (133-590) in 158 games for the Chicago White Sox in 2016 
 
Since 2012, Frazier's first full season in the majors, he has hit 154 home runs as a third baseman, second-most by a third baseman behind Josh Donaldson's 164. He is one of three third basemen to hit at least 25 home runs in each of the last four seasons, joining Donaldson and Seattle's Kyle Seager.
 
In addition to his two All-Star selections, Frazier won the Home Run Derby in 2015 and is one of two current players on the Mets roster to have won the contest (Yoenis Céspedes won the event in 2013 and 2014).
 
"Todd has been one of the league's top third basemen since he broke into the league in 2011," Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson said. "He has a track record of hitting for power as well as playing solid defense and will be a vital piece for us on and off the field as we look to return to the postseason."
 
Frazier has played in 897 games since his first full season in 2012, second-most among third basemen in that time behind Seager's 947 games played. In the field, Frazier has 29 defensive runs saved since 2012, fifth-most among qualified third basemen in that time behind Arenado (104), Machado (81), Adrian Beltre (56) and Donaldson (52).
 
In seven major league seasons, Frazier has batted .245 (820-3345) with 165 doubles, 175 home runs, 498 RBI and 62 stolen bases in 938 career games for the Reds, White Sox and Yankees.
