Mariner sign RHP Kevin Correia to minor league deal

Veteran righty will participate in Major League Spring Training as camp invitee.

SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced today the club has signed right-handed pitcher Kevin Correia to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training.

·         Kevin Correia, RHP, signed to minor league contract with invite to Major League Spring Training.

Correia is expected to join Mariners camp today. He will wear #37 when he takes the field in Peoria.

The right-hander concluded 2014 pitching 9 games, including 3 starts, with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He began last season in Minnesota where he made 23 starts. He combined for a 7-17, 5.44 mark in 32 games, 26 starts, overall in 2014.

In his 12-year Major League career, he has pitched with San Francisco (2003-2008), San Diego (2009-10), Pittsburgh (2011-2012), Minnesota (2013-2014) and Los Angeles. Correia has a career mark of 76-95 in 353 games, 216 starts. He was a selected to play for the National League in the 2011 All-Star Game (did not pitch).
