Orioles host "Go Green" Day Tuesday, March 17, auction game-worn green caps for charity

Club will also present check from Birdland Golf Classic to Miracle League of Manasota

The Orioles will feature two initiatives from their Sarasota 365 community outreach program during today's game at 1:05 p.m. against the Minnesota Twins. The Orioles will host "Go Green" Day, presented by Waste Pro, for St. Patrick's Day at the environmentally-friendly Ed Smith Stadium. The team will wear specially-designed, green O's caps, which will be autographed, authenticated, and auctioned online at www.orioles.com/spring, to benefit Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

In addition, the Orioles will present a check for $40,370 to the Miracle League of Manasota, an organization dedicated to providing an opportunity for every person to play baseball, regardless of their ability. The money was raised during the 5th Annual OriolesREACH Birdland Golf Classic at The Founders Club on February 23, where manager BUCK SHOWALTER and many current Orioles including CHRIS DAVIS, J.J. HARDY, DARREN O'DAY, and CHRIS TILLMAN, participated in the event.
