Royals announce several transactions Sunday

SURPRISE, Ariz. (March 22, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals announced several roster moves following this afternoon's Spring Training game with the San Francisco Giants. The Royals have optioned pitchers Michael Mariot and Yohan Pino, catcher Francisco Pena, infielder Cheslor Cuthbert and outfielder Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A Omaha. The club also optioned left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan to Double-A Northwest Arkansas and outfielder Terrance Gore to Class A-Advanced Wilmington. In addition, Kansas City reassigned catcher Parker Morin and outfielder Brett Eibner to minor league camp.

Following today's roster moves, the Royals have 37 active players in Major League Spring Training, which includes 28 players from the 40-man roster and nine non-roster invitees.
