Marlins open 2015 campaign with six-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays
MIAMI -The Miami Marlins begin their 23rd season with a six-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves (April 6-8) and Tampa Bay Rays (April 10-12). The homestand features three fan giveaways as all fans will receive a 2015 magnetic schedule courtesy of Leon Medical Centers on Opening Day, the first 5,000 fans on April 10 will receive a Zombie Night poster, and the first 10,000 fans on April 12 will receive a Miami Marlins 2015 calendar presented by Pepsi.
During this homestand, the Marlins will celebrate Passover at the Park (April 7), Puerto Rican Heritage Day (April 11) and Boys and Girls Clubs Day (April 12). Fans are invited to celebrate the Passover holiday at Marlins Park on Tuesday, April 7. The event will include a pregame festival featuring a live performance by the Maccabeats. Then on Saturday, April 11, fans are encouraged to bring handheld instruments to cheer on the Marlins along with the Marlins Pachanga Band for Puerto Rican Heritage Day. The first homestand of 2015 concludes on Sunday with Boys and Girls Clubs Day. The Marlins will celebrate the partnership between Major League Baseball and Boys and Girls Clubs of America by recognizing various local South Florida Boys and Girls Clubs throughout the day.
On Friday, April 10, the Marlins will host the first theme night of the season, Zombie Night. Theme nights are a new addition at Marlins Park for every Friday home game in 2015. The first theme night will include a fan-friendly Zombie Night at Marlins Park. Fans who purchase the VIP special event package will receive a game ticket, Marlins Zombie Kit, T-shirt and VIP pregame party with prizes, games and zombie face painting. Special event ticket holders will also have the opportunity to meet IronE Singleton from AMC's Walking Dead. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite zombie costume and to stay in their seats following the game for a fireworks show presented by Pepsi.
