Rogers Centre introduces new executive chef

The Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers Centre and Aramark are pleased to welcome Elizabeth Rivasplata as the stadium's new executive chef. Chef Rivasplata, a former Top Chef Canada contestant, will lead Aramark's culinary operations at Rogers Centre.

Chef Rivasplata's passion for the city's multitude of cultures and comfort food has inspired her cooking style as well as her use of fresh, local ingredients.

"I am so excited to join the Aramark culinary team and enhance Roger Centre's dining experience with new and innovative offerings," said Chef Rivasplata. "There is an abundance of diverse tastes and flavours throughout Toronto and I'm eager to incorporate them into our menus."

For the 2015 Blue Jays season, Chef Rivasplata has added her own special and unique flare to the lineup of culinary delights at Rogers Centre. Among the new items fans will find at the ballpark is peameal bacon sausage -- wonderfully flavoured, handcrafted "Toronto" sausage recipe, inspired by the city's widely popular peameal bacon sandwich. A must try with honey mustard and caramelized onions.

Hand dipped corned dogs, fresh beer battered fish and chips, hand crafted porchetta sandwiches and slow roasted or smoked beef brisket are some of the other additions Chef Rivasplata is bringing to fans in 2015.

The same characteristics that allowed Chef Rivasplata to excel on Top Chef -- an eye for detail, hardworking, organized with the ability to work in a fast paced, high energy environment -- were also key factors that brought Elizabeth to the front of the line as Executive Chef at Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays and Canada's most iconic sports and entertainment facility.

Originally from Lima, Peru, Rivasplata moved to Toronto nine years ago and proudly calls Toronto home. For more information on Chef Elizabeth Rivasplata, please see attached bio.
