A's Community Fund, Hayward Firefighters Association to Donate $2,000 to Tennyson American Little League Following Robbery

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland Athletics and Hayward Firefighters Association have teamed up to donate $2,000 to the Tennyson American Little League, it was announced today.

On Sunday, thieves broke into a safe at Hayward's Sorensdale Park and stole an estimated $7,000. The safe contained funds from the league's annual fundraiser, which was held Saturday. A majority of the funds were covered by insurance, but the A's Community Fund and Hayward Firefighters - who will make matching $1,000 donations - will more than offset the $1,000 insurance deductible.  

Tennyson American Little League serves over 200 children, ages 4 to 18, on 18 teams.
