Mets select infielder Danny Muno/option RHP Rafael Montero

The New York Mets today announced the club has selected the contract of infielder Danny Muno from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and optioned righthanded pitcher Rafael Montero to Las Vegas. Muno will wear #16 and will be available for tonight's game.

Muno, 26, was hitting .211 (4-19) with two RBI in seven games for the 51s this season. The 5-11, 195-pounder batted .259 (93-359) with 13 doubles, 14 home runs and 62 RBI in 117 games for Las Vegas in 2014.

He was the Mets eighth-round pick in the 2011 First Year Player Draft. The Long Beach, CA native hit .327 (17-52) with one double, one triple, one home run and five RBI in 27 spring training games.
