Blue Jays select Andrew Albers

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have optioned LHP DANIEL NORRIS to Buffalo of the International League (AAA) and have selected the contract of LHP ANDREW ALBERS from Buffalo. To make room on the 40 man roster for the addition of Albers, infielder MAICER IZTURIS has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. 

ALBERS, 29, has started four games for Buffalo this season posting a 1-3 record with a 3.09 ERA. The North Battleford, Saskatchewan native is set to become the 24th Canadian born player to appear for the Blue Jays and the fifth this season (Francis, Martin, Pompey, Saunders).
