Select Contract of Bernier

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they have placed infielder Eduardo Nunez on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain (retro to 4/30). Nunez has played in eight games, hitting .409 (9-for-22) with four doubles.

To replace Nunez on the 25-man roster, the Twins have selected the contract of infielder Doug Bernier from Triple-A Rochester. Bernier hit .239 (17-for-71) with two doubles, one home run and six RBI in 20 games for the Red Wings.

The Twins 40-man roster is now at 40.
