First-Place Dodgers Take On Miami Marlins Monday Through Wednesday

LOS ANGELES - The Dodgers' fourth homestand of the season begins with a three-game series against the Miami Marlins, Monday, May 11, Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 13. Contests on Monday and Tuesday against the Marlins take place at 7:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday's game begins at 4:50 p.m. with auto gates opening at 2:20 p.m. and stadium gates at 2:50 p.m.

Levy Restaurants will offer a special item available during the series against Miami at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. A special Cuban Dog features a quarter-pound all-beef hot dog topped with ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard and pickle chips. This item will debut on Cuba Night Monday at Dodger Stadium. Levy Restaurants will also offer a special item available at the Think Blue BBQ located in the left-field pavilion plaza. Caribbean Sticky Ribs will be offered Monday through Wednesday. The dish features pork spare ribs with pineapple barbeque sauce, ghost pepper and molasses marinade and it will be served with tropical cole slaw.

When the Dodgers take on the Marlins at 7:10 p.m. Monday on Cuba Night, a special ticket package will be offered that includes a ticket to the game along with a Cuba-Dodger themed T-shirt (image attached). Cuban-American actor, director and Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Two-time Grammy nominee Karina Nuvo will perform the national anthem. Archbishop José H. Gomez will also throw a first pitch Monday in celebration of the 5th annual Catholic Schools Night at Dodger Stadium. The event, which celebrates Catholic school students, teachers and staff, is part of the Dodgers Salute to Schools during the month of May. Teachers and students from more than 30 schools throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will join Archbishop Gomez at Monday's game.

The Archdiocese began its Catholic schools program in the 1850s. There are more than 250 Catholic elementary and high schools within Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties that comprise the Archdiocese. The Archdiocese is committed to making a Catholic education a reality for all families through the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF), which provides tuition assistance to financially deserving students. In 2014, CEF provided $12.7 million to help fund the Catholic education of 9,700 students from families living at or below the poverty line. Students receiving CEF assistance have a graduation rate of 98 percent and a college attendance rate of 98 percent.

Dodger alumnus Lee Lacy will sign autographs in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pantages will offer a "Motown the Musical" blue carpet photo opportunity in the left-field plaza.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Felix Fernandez Jr. of Perris. Fernandez enlisted as an Airman and during his 28 years of service, he has deployed several thousand airmen to various locations in support of Operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Enduring Freedom. Fernandez is currently stationed at 452 Force Support Squadron March Air Reserve Base.

Monday, May 11

The Dodgers take on the Marlins at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday. All auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:10 p.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Clayton Kershaw bobblehead presented by Coca-Cola (image attached). "America's Got Talent" 2014 finalist and Sony Music Masterworks recording artist Emily West will perform the national anthem.

Dodger alumnus Al Ferrara will sign autographs in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. KLAC 570 LA Sports' Petros and Money show will broadcast live from the left-field pavilion plaza from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army E4 Specialist Julio Ramirez of Los Angeles. Ramirez was deployed to South Korea in 2010, where he earned the Superior Unit Award for his efforts in response to the North Korean attack on a border island. Ramirez is currently stationed in Fort Irwin where he works to extend diplomatic courtesies and hospitality to foreign and domestic visiting leaders.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring more than 25 signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions will take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items up for auction on Tuesday include a Clayton Kershaw autographed photo, Joc Pederson autographed baseball and Zack Greinke autographed Dodger jersey. The auction will end at 8:45 p.m.

Tuesday, May 12

The Dodgers conclude their series against the Marlins at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. All auto gates open at 2:20 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 2:50 p.m.

American folk rock artist Lissie will perform the national anthem. Dodger alumnus Al Downing will sign autographs in the left-field plaza from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Luis Martinez of Salinas. Martinez enlisted in 2006 and in 2009 was assigned to Marine Expeditionary Force Group where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Martinez later transferred to 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines in Hawaii, where he completed one Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan for six months.
