White Sox option Micah Johnson to class AAA Charlotte

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox have optioned second baseman Micah Johnson to Class AAA Charlotte.

Johnson, 24, is hitting .270 (20-74) with two doubles, three RBI, eight runs scored, five walks and three stolen bases over 27 games this season, his first in the major leagues.

Johnson entered the season rated by Baseball America as the No. 4 Prospect and Fastest Baserunner in the White Sox organization.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow night's series opener at Oakland.
